The 13th Edition of Dominica’s ‘Jazz n’ Creole Festival’ will take place on 5 May from 2pm to 9pm at the Fort Shirley Cabrits National Park under the theme ‘Creole Fusion’.

The headliners for the event this year include Lí-Lí Octave, Michele Henderson, Alain, and the Swingin’ Stars band.

Several fringe events will also be happening in the lead up to the main show including Jazz in The City on 30 April at KA-TAI restaurant, Jazz ‘n Pan on Bedford Street, Portsmouth on 2 May, Jazz on the Shoreline at Fort Young Hotel on 3 May, and Jazz on the Riverside at Rosalie Bay Resort on 4 May.

At a press conference held to launch the festival, Discover Dominica’s communications and public relations specialist, Monelle Alexis, said this year’s theme was chosen to evoke images “of bold prints, lively prints, and unique accessories.”

Minister of Tourism, Denise Charles-Pemberton, also revealed that last year’s event recorded a 59% increase in attendance and a 55% increase in revenue from 2022.

She said the festival’s format, which blends smooth jazz and lively creole music, has been a hit with people in the region as well as from around the world.

Tickets for Jazz ‘n Creole 2024 are available at the Discover Dominica Authority’s office in Roseau or online at https://dominicafestivals.com/jazz-home/. General admission is $200 (EC) and VIP tickets are $325 (EC).
