Years ago, the dream of a group of Montserratians opening the island's first indigenous commercial bank became a reality.

In May 1988, following the incorporation as a limited liability company, the Bank of Montserrat Limited was born.

With a population of approximately 11,000 people, three other commercial banks were operating on the island at the time. However, Montserratians receiving us as 'their own bank' responded positively and enthusiastically. Because of their support and trust, our institution got off to an excellent start under the management of Mr Hensey Fenton and his staff of twelve.

Today, the Bank of Montserrat is the leading financial institution on the island with a market share of 80% of the commercial banking market. Since then, we have worked assiduously to validate the trust placed in us. Our team serves the people of Montserrat with efficiency, expertise and care.

As we've transitioned from our various locations: Wade Inn, Plymouth to the corner of Chapel and Parliament streets, and now to Brades so too has our services. We seek to offer financial solutions that greatly benefit our customers consistently.
